The Worst They Can Say Is No, is by far at the tippity top of the best life advice I’ve ever received. LIKE EVER!

Because let’s be honest, the worst anyone can say to us is no. & when you put it all into perspective who really cares! Yeah it might sting but give it a day and you’ll move on, trust me! I get about 2-3 NO emails a day, but I take it for face value, put my head down and keep plugging away.

Receiving a no doesn’t mean you’re a failure or your not elite enough; it just means not right now. So wouldn’t you rather put yourself out there instead of complaining, contemplating or even worse should of, could of, would of-ing.

Blah, Ew, Boring.

So to everyone who has a goal let’s make it happen!

Whether your goal is to collaborate with companies, meet up with other bloggers, get an independent study with a professor you admire or get an internship with a company or brand you’ve always loved; I can tell you one thing for sure…nothing will happen until you make it happen.

& to be honest the first step is reaching out and then FOLLOWING UP! The follow-up is key, because let’s face it we are all busy and sometimes I read emails while waiting in line for Starbucks, forget to respond and miss out on a serious opportunity. So don’t feel like your a nag, just touch base!

I get sooooo many emails a day asking for blogging advice and the best advice I can give is ASK and LEARN!

What do you need help with?

Do you need help figuring out the business side of blogging, see if you can intern with a blogger you love! Our crew has had two interns so far and we love teaching future bloggers because I was definitely in your shoes.

Do you need help with photos for your blog? Intern with a photographer.

Do you need help with a business plan? Try to get an independent study in college with a business professor, centered around making a business plan, brand board or a financial forecast.

You guys, I want you to win, your teachers want you to win, and I bet your friends and family want you to win! So ask, the more you ask and put yourself out there the more you’ll learn and the further you’ll go. So if you don’t know someone that can help you accomplish those goals, ask around you’d be surprised how many people are rooting for you, I AM!

Okay, I’d love to hear some motivational stories below! Have you ever asked and gotten a HUGE YES! Let me know below :).

  1. This is soooo true!! It can be one of the hardest things to deal with as well. But its definitely good too acknowledge it.

  2. You’re so right. I 100% agree on all of this!
When it came to my blog I used to feel so shy about asking for anything.
But then I just forced myself to do it and was so surprised about how often I would get a yes. Not always of course but that’s ok!
The first big success for me was asking a food magazine if they where interested in featuring one of my recipes. I expected a NO but to my surprise they reacted really positively and ended up featuring a little interview and 3 of my recipes.
I love your blog by the way! Have been reading it for years now and really love where you’ve taken it.
    X Alex
