SHOP POST DETAILSHunter Rain Boots (ON SALE FOR $89!)
New England is off to a pleasantly sunny spring! With temperatures in the mid to high 50s and no snow in sight, I’ve started transitioning my closet with breezier wardrobe staples – starting with my spring rain boots.
Spring is a muddy season here in New England! So with gardening days in Matt and I’s future, I appreciate my collection of rain boots now more than ever. From designer boots to gardening booties – there’s a pair of wellies for any occasion!
Today’s post is dedicated to my rain boots and 3 ways to style them for spring:
Rain Boots With Dresses & Skirts
Nothing says preppy quite like pairing rain boots with a sundress or denim skirt. I come back to this style year after year. Whether I’m traveling the rainy roads of Ireland or leaf peeping throughout New England in Autumn, this outfit combo is always one of my go-to looks. This season I plan to style the look for rainy morning or evening walks along the riverside. Check out this post during my trip to the cliffs of Moher Ireland where I wore the pairing! (Note: if your weather app says storms are heading your way, maybe don’t wear white like I did. Lesson learned.)
Rain Boots With Skinny Jeans & A Statement Purse
The most common way to wear rain boots this spring is with a classic pair of denim skinny jeans. Skinnies fit seamlessly into the calf of your boots – making them ideal for a more active rainy day look. Personally, I have a variety of boot colors on hand. Matte black or blue rain boots will elongate the look of legs and red glossy wellies add a pop of color to any look!
Rain Boots With White Denim
The perfect compliment to warmer weather is a fresh pair of white denim jeans. To maintain transparency, I purchase a crisp pair of white denim jeans each year. From family picnics in the grass to coffee spills and stains, my white jeans have an expiration date. Anytime I head to a nearby city for work meetings in the spring, I often pair white jeans with an elegant button down or colorful flutter sleeve blouse and black rain boots. Once indoors, I trade my wellies in for a pair of heels that I keep conveniently stashed in my purse.
