Hey guys,
I’m so excited to launch this new TCC series. I’m calling this one pink collar work and I’m chatting about all things business & blogging.

Let me be the first to say that I get 100 questions about blogging, like everyday. At first I was super frustrated because 90% of the population thinks I do nothing all day, however after blogging for almost 2 years, and now full-time, I kind of stopped caring about what people think.

I’m so lucky to be able to run my blog & home store full-time now, that I kind of like just flying under the radar.

Sooooo last week, I asked you guys to snap me any questions you might have about my business and blogging. I was pleasantly surprised when the questions started flooding in on snapchat (aubreyrose740), so thanks to everyone who sent in a question.

Feel free to ask more questions below, for our next pink collar session!! So let’s jump in, shall we.

How far in advanced do you plan out your posts?

Okay! Good question! I plan my posts, ideally a month in advance, but things always change (ALWAYS!). However I consistently shoot my style posts’ content at least three days before the post goes live. So no, the #ootd on la blog isn’t actually my #ootd on that specific day.

Overall staying organized and planning your content ahead of time is essential to being successful and keeps yourself accountable as a writer, creator and editor.

Any tips on starting a blog & how to start?

Ohhhhhh. Okay my tip is simple…just start. I started almost 3 years ago and my blog was just a basic layout, nothing fancy. Once I blogged for a few months and realized I really enjoyed it, I then invested money and started working on branding my blog.

Sooo start your blog, see if you like it and grow from there. You never know until you try right!

What camera do you use?

I use this camera!

How did you come up with your blog name?

So I knew I wanted to have the word ‘confidence’ in my blog name. Overall I think confidence is key and super important to your success, so I wanted to have a reminder of that in my name.

After that I worked to add a touch of New England to my name, so I thought obviously ‘coastal’. After all my brand focuses on New England coastal lifestyle, thus the TCC.

Is blogging your full-time job?

Yup! Blogging & running my TCC home store are my full-time jobs!

How do you make money as a blogger, the whole blogging world is new to me?

This is such a popular question, because the whole industry is so confusing to people who aren’t in it. So to recap, I make money off of my TCC home store, my affiliated links (where if you make a purchase through certain links on this site, I may make a commission from that purchase.) and sponsored posts.

Any advice for bloggers trying to build their instagram following?

This is another FAQ! Oh the instagram. Okay if you are looking to build your instagram following, first figure out your niche! Who do you want following you? For example I’m a New England lifestyle blogger, so I want New England lovers following along.

Next find those people, interact with their accounts, and figure out what they like to see! Do they like seeing your outfits, your home decor, or those glorious food pics. Figure out what makes your niche tick and share content that inspires them.

That’s it guys! If you have any more questions leave them below and I’ll answer them next time. xx A.

  1. Aubrey – I LOVE this post! I always love hearing about blogging from other bloggers. I totally agree that the most important step is to just do it! You will learn so much throughout your blogging journey but can only do so once you get started! x

I’d be curious to know when you made the leap to blogging full-time and when you knew it was ready for YOU!

PS – I am LOVING that blue Bendel with the hot pink! Great look!

    Cheers!
    Shannon x

    1. Thanks Shannon! Love your blog & I’ll answer your question on our next Pink Collar segment 🙂 xxA.
