Fundamental Fall Pieces To Purchase From The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

August 6th, 2020
Location  •   Connecticut

For me, The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale goes hand in hand with the thoughts of back-to-school shopping, transitional wear for fall, and the notion of summer’s end. Much like the rest of 2020, I’m shocked we are preparing to head into fall – I never thought a spring spent working from home and a summer spent summering at home, would fly by so fast. Overall, I’d be lying if I didn’t admit I’m excited about fall and the idea of stocking up on fundamental fall pieces to add to my closet.

Our Cape Cod Inspired Back Patio Renovation & Reveal!

June 29th, 2020

Thank you Scotties Facial Tissues for sponsoring this post. Over the past couple of months, Matt and I have spent considerably more time at home – working, living, and now entertaining, than we have ever done in the past. Back in March, we decided to use our time at home as productively as we could, by tackling some leftover house projects from our 2019 renovation. We, of course, started with smaller items on our to-do list like paint touch-ups and seasonal closet changeovers. Yet as we got further into 2020 we soon anticipated having even more time at home, especially…

BYOB Restaurants In Connecticut Worth Visiting

June 20th, 2020
Location  •   Noank, Connecticut

Nothing makes me smile quite like the seafood season in New England, quality time with my sister and BYOB restaurants – where you’ll always see me with Poema Cava my favorite sparkling wine to pair with seafood! With summer weather here, and as we continue into Stage 2 of coronavirus guidelines, my favorite outdoor BYOB restaurants are finally opening back up. Not only are visiting these restaurants a great way to support small businesses but they’re also a perfect way to enjoy the company of your friends while social distancing. With guidelines constantly changing I do recommend clicking…

3 Towns To Dock At & Explore Along The Connecticut River

June 17th, 2020
Location  •   Old Saybrook, Connecticut

Nothing goes hand in hand quite like summertime in New England and going boating. Whether it’s taking a sailboat out on sunset, a daytime cruise on a Chris Craft or getting from point A to point B by ferry – which is a classic New England form of summertime transportation, as you can read about in our summer spots worth a ferry ride to post, boating is apart of a New England lifestyle whether you own one or not. Since this year a lot of time will be spent doing social distance activities like boating locally – I…

If one thing came out of 2020 – it’s that Matt and I have fully mastered the craft of making the best cup of coffee at home. After a few months of testing out an array of coffee products – below, I’ve curated a list of what you’ll need to make the best cup of…

Last week, on Monday, to be exact, I turned twenty-six! Now usually my birthday is something I love to celebrate with you all, kicking it off with my annual birthday post – which is always fun to look back on ( turning twenty-two, turned twenty-four and turning twenty-five here) then continue the week with festive posts – however, this year was a little different. In light of everything going on within our nation and with the continued outbreak of COVID-19 around the world, we decided to put all of our content on hold to stand in solidarity with…

May 21st, 2020

A few of the things I see most frequently in my Instagram DMs are questions and comments concerning my transferware collection -specifically the pieces you all saw in our kitchen reveal post. So with all this time spent at home, I decided to finally sit down and share my tips on what to look for in antique transferware & a look at our colonial collection. When I first started collecting transferware – my obsession came out of nowhere. Ironically enough my love for colonial transferware really came from my time spent in Texas. If you’re new around here,…

New Englander’s Guide To An Efficient Beauty Routine

May 17th, 2020
Location  •   New England

Over these past couple of months, a lot has changed especially when it comes to our routines – both big and small. While our work and social lifestyles did a full 180 as we continue to stay at home, a lot of the day-to-day rituals I would do at home like cooking, cleaning, and skincare got impacted too! I found myself really evaluating each routine and improving on it – in a simplifying way. The first routine I really tackled was my beauty routine. I tossed out any old or expired makeup in those first weeks of quarantine and replaced what I threw out with skincare products to better plump, hydrate, and nurture my skin. All and all, I’ve loved this less is more approach with makeup and hope to continue using this efficient beauty routine, plus or minus a dozen red lipstick colors, from here on out.

A New Season & A New Outlook During Quarantine

May 13th, 2020
Location  •   Connecticut

I have to admit – it’s been a while! In all honestly, I’ve been avoiding writing this post. But, as New England starts to welcome spring weather I find myself – like the new spring leaves – ready to open up. Before we dive into a new season and a new outlook, I want to stress that I know these are challenging times for everyone. My goal is to shed some light on where I’ve been and my hopes for what’s to come. In the past, I’ve shared a mid-year recap on my birthday in early June. But…
