It’s that time of year again, and no I’m not talking about the guy with the white beard and the big red suit; I’m talking about Hallmark holiday movie time. From now until January you’ll find the Hallmark channel running round the clock at my house. To simply put it, this is the coziest time of year to work from home; and while I don’t necessarily decorate my office for Christmas, I do embrace the season and workload that comes with it in a fun way. But before I get into that, I have to share my sweater details with you all. Okay, I digress, starting on November 3rd, I usually move my office out of my designated workspace and onto the couch, smack next to the fire. This is my busiest time of the year, which means I work probably around 15 hours a day, and I LOVE IT. I mean, this time of year is the BEST time to create content, especially with how stunning New England is! Yet with that being said, sitting for that long at a desk can make me feel anxious and jittery; so with my tree lit, fire roaring, and Hallmark Channel a blazing…I work away like one of Santa’s elves. Which brings me to my main point, after years of upholding this kind of holiday work traditions I’ve turned into a Hallmark holiday movie expert. I’ve seen what feels like every holiday movie, so when I found out we had a Hallmark holiday movie being filmed in our own backyard, you bet I had my camera in hand and was out the door quicker than you could say mistletoe! 

Okay, now that you know my personal connection with Hallmark holiday movies; let’s get to the good stuff… everything you need to know about the Hallmark holiday movie filmed in Connecticut.

Movie Overview: Emma returns home to celebrate Christmas for the last time with her siblings in the house they grew up in. After their parents’ recent passing, the siblings reluctantly agree to sell the family home on Honeysuckle Lane, leaving Emma in charge of its belongings. Shoot Location: Old Wethersfield, Connecticut

Featured Location #1: / The Silas W. Robbins Bed & Breakfast 

This was one of the first stops the filming crew made when shooting Christmas on Honeysuckle Lane. From holiday wreaths to fake snow; the Hallmark team transformed this inn into a winter wonderland. With that being said, I shot these images over a month after filming wrapped, so just imagine the work behind the scenes and on set; to pull off this snowy holiday transformation onscreen. 

Featured Location #2: / Comstock Ferre & Co

This stunning coffee shop and marketplace was decked out in holiday bows and fake snow. From snow on the rooftops to a Christmas cookie filled gazebo; this was a very on brand Hallmark moment and I was so excited to see them decorate this whole scene in just ONE DAY! 

Featured Location #3: / Lucky Lous Bar and Grill

 This was the third and final shoot location; on this day I was lucky enough to catch the Hallmark team while filming, so I snapped some shots for you all above. They had a hot cocoa hut, a tree lighting service and many holiday shoppers checking items off their Christmas lists. Overall, it was really exciting getting to see them transform this Main Street area; along with watching them decorate what feels like the tallest tree in Wethersfield’s historic district. The best part is…they left the Christmas lights on the tree, so I can’t wait to head back to Main Street to watch the town light it for this upcoming holiday season. 

When Was The Hallmark Crew In Wethersfield, CT: In the middle of October; when Old Wethersfield was in peak leaf peeping believe it or not. 

Okay, that’s just about everything you need to know about the Hallmark holiday movie filmed in Connecticut. With that being said, recently our state’s seen a lot of movie production; in fact, you can hear about the time I ran into the Netflix team here! All and all, it’s really exciting getting to see our historic towns showcased on film. So I hope you tune in and if you have a chance, do take a drive over to Old Wethersfield. It truly is a charming town with so many great restaurants to choose from.
