Thank you Christmas Tree Shops andThat! for sponsoring this post.
The holiday season is officially upon us! Soon, historic Main Streets will glow with twinkling lights while out-of-town family members venture from near and far. Calendars begin to fill up quickly. So, I reserve the first weekend in November for my friends by celebrating Friendsgiving,
In preparation for my upcoming gathering, I took a trip to Christmas Tree Shops andThat!’s where I was able to create a picture-worthy Friendsgiving tablescape for under $100!
Usually, I don’t decorate beyond my fall decorations that go up early September – as you might remember in my 3 Ways To Decorate Your Mantel For Fall post here. However, when my annual Friendsgiving dinner comes around, I pull out all the turkey-themed decor for the occasion.
Since this is Matt and mine’s first holiday in our new home, I wanted to update our decor by making 2019’s Friendsgiving tablescape Instagram-worthy. I knew Christmas Tree Shops andThat!’s would be just the place since they have high-quality items at affordable prices – just the place for a girl on a limited budget!
No matter the holiday, I always approach tablescape design in three steps: tablecloths & place settings, height & light, and final touches.
Tablecloths & Place Settings
Choosing a tablecloth, runner or placemats for the place settings to sit atop is always important before leaping into the fun party decorations. For my Friendsgiving, I fell in love with the perfect tablescape anchor – a plaid circular tablecloth!
It’s important to have place settings for each person. I set a large white dinner plate below a decorative plate for salads, sides, or appetizers. As you can see, I couldn’t help but purchase the Harvest Turkey Cermanic Dinner Plates for the occasion. I finished each place setting with a fabric napkin gathered with a decorative napkin ring. The accent of pumpkins, gourds, and deep fall hues perfectly complement the turkey plates.
I am drawn to glasses and mugs that are on theme. So, I couldn’t pass up these glass mugs. The drinkware is great for hot cider or chilled cranberry sangria – pop in a cinnamon stick or two for extra festive flair!
Height & Light
With the place settings down and the tablecloth steamed, it’s time to add some height and light!
Christmas Tree Shops andThat!’s is home to a large selection of candlestick colors and styles. I kept my candlestick choice simple. For the length of my table, I chose candlesticks that came to two separate heights. But, if your table is longer, I suggest using candles at multiple heights.
While candlesticks are a great way to add a glow, including fragrant candles – like pumpkin-shaped mercury glass jar candles in pumpkin spice – complement the autumn ambiance.
Turkeys & Final Touches
Now that the table is set and the candles are flickering – it’s time to add the final touches. I added a larger mercury glass candle holder to the table for additional light and decor. To tie the Thanksgiving theme together, I added two large woodland turkeys and sprinkled scented pinecones across the table.
I pulled off my entire tablescape for just under $100 and you can too! Christmas Tree Shops andThat!’s annual Friends & Family event starts November 5th and runs through the 11th. You can expect 20% off your entire purchase! Mark your calendars – you won’t want to miss it!
