Whether you’d like to admit it, or not, Thanksgiving Day is next week which means one of the BUSIEST travel days of the year is among us. Now, after living in both California and Dallas for over six years; I’ve gotten pretty good at maneuvering the airport, roadways, and trains on this upcoming holiday weekend. There is something so magical about the hustle and bustle on the road this time of year, and while some might find it stressful I’m going to share one simple way to take the stress out of your airport travel day; packing light.
Now, when I travel for work I’m the opposite of a light packer, I mean I’ll pack two suitcases full of outfits to shoot; and a suitcase just for shoes. Yet, when it comes to family trips or cross-country California trips to visit my friends, I try to stick to my Land’s End Canvas Tote and a carry-on. Honestly, I love the hustle-free feeling of NOT having to lug carry-ons around the airport, as I’m always running to a connecting flight this time of year; but I will say it’s much better to know you have your luggage than losing them in transit. In fact, last year I went to visit my family for a holiday weekend, and my bags got stuck at the airport when I had a layover, and by the time my bags were recovered I was basically already heading back to Dallas. Which brings me to my main point, why you all need Land’s End’s Canvas Totes for Thanksgiving Day Travel.
Whether you’re taking the train home, like many college students in New England do, a plane like I had to, or just driving down the street to Thanksgiving Day dinner, like Matt and I do now; a canvas tote is an ideal carry-on. In fact, I had to monogram mine with my first name, as my Mom already has this exact bag with our last name! All and all Land’s End canvas totes are a New England staple, there is just no way around it; and the best part is that Land’s End’s canvas totes, pouches, and all other regular-priced items are 50% off with code: SURPRISE & pin: 6232. What a deal!
Now, who else is excited about this holiday season! I know I am. This time of year is so special and while I was shooting these photos with Matt it actually started snowing! Yes, you heard me right, and thank goodness I had packed this wool jacket, currently on sale for under $100! If you follow me over on Instagram then you saw the whole thing unroll but it was our first snowfall in Connecticut; which has a special meaning for Matt and I since we’ve been away from home for so long.
On that note, Matt and I have a lot to be thankful for this year…we bought our first home, moved back to Connecticut and have watched as our TCC community has grown with another passing year. With all that being said, we are so thankful for each of you and can’t wait to share our first OUR HOUSE update with you all on Wednesday, so stay tuned and we look forward to seeing you back here then.
